God Hears Us

Scripture of the day!!

I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. (Psalms 3:4 KJV)

This is big for me right now because when I get desperate, it's easy to doubt/ question my faith... So just to know that He hears me when I cry out to him... #priceless

Happy Thanksgiving

Scripture of the day!!

Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you. ” (Luke 17:17-19 NLT)

#Thankfulness

Happy Thanksgiving!

Focus on Christ

Let's take the focus off ourselves and put it on Jesus

Scripture of the day!!!

Walking down the street, Jesus saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked, “Rabbi, who sinned: this man or his parents, causing him to be born blind?” Jesus said, “You’re asking the wrong question. You’re looking for someone to blame. There is no such cause-effect here. Look instead for what God can do. We need to be energetically at work for the One who sent me here, working while the sun shines. When night falls, the workday is over. For as long as I am in the world, there is plenty of light. I am the world’s Light.” (John 9:1-5 MSG)

Do You Want Fries With That?

It's our job to serve.

If you worked at McDonalds, after receiving the customer's order, you would ask if they want fries with that. You would seek to serve their needs, even if they didn't ask you to... Because it's your job. Service.

We are called to serve like Christ.

We must love our neighbors and serve their needs even if they do not ask for it.

This is what our Lord and Savior does.

Scripture of the day!

Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God. So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him. (John 13:3-5 NLT)

Casualty

Scripture of the day:

“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?” They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. (John 8:4-6 NLT)

The enemy's beef ain't with us... It's with God. Sometimes we become casualties... Thank God for grace

Ask. Seek. Knock.

Scripture of the day!

Luke 11:9-10
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Ask.
Visualize it. See it. Imagine it and ask God to make it happen.
(Think of a picture to draw)

Seek.
Go to it. Get in position to do it. Strip off what's not needed so the search/journey is possible.
(Get the materials for the picture... What colors are needed?)

Knock.
Do it. Have the faith to walk on what was asked for. Trust that the door is opened to those who knock... So go for it! Success is the only option.
(Start drawing) (following the concept and using the materials)

A lot if times, I'll ask for stuff, but I don't follow through with seeking or knocking...

When you ask, you receive... But it's not opened up for you, unless you knock. So it's possible to have something, to have a word, to have a promise and not be able to fully enjoy it because it hasn't been opened up for you.

You ask for something on eBay... U receive it. It's in your mailbox.

You have to actually go to the mailbox to find it.

But it's a package... If you ordered a toaster, you can't put bread on the package and get toast.. You've got to open the package (with faith knowing that it's your toaster--- have your bread ready) plug it in, put the bread in, and push down the button.

You can't just order a toaster and expect toast...

Challenge of the day: Follow through. Ask then seek then knock.

Build on a ROCK

Scripture of the day!

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: (Matthew 7:24 KJV)

And

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. (Isaiah 40:8 KJV)

Thankful for being able to live on His word. Eternal territory... Don't have to be evicted... No bills... Don't have to cut the grass... Never gotta move...  Just rest in Him. #PromisedLand...

Music

Scripture of the day:

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. (1 Corinthians 13:1 KJV)

The Writer is persuading the reader to love. And starts by comparing someone speaking without love to music... Music without love. Music without God. Secular music. Godless music is as bad as not speaking love...

Free Gift

Scripture of the day!

“Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free! (Isaiah 55:1 NLT)

Encouragement

Isaiah is one of my favorite books. Especially when I need a pep talk.

Scripture of the day:

I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. (Isaiah 45:2, 3 KJV)

This encourages me because I look forward and see a lot of crooked places... A lot of messed up places. I don't necessarily see how I'm going to get to the promises of God. But this said that the barriers between me and where I'm going are nothing to God. He'll smash them. And it's not that I'll have to get there and get discouraged because its blocked off... No, He said that He Himself, God Almighty, will go ahead of me and fix it up.... Wow.

He'll give me hidden treasures.

Walking in His will might look crazy and unprofitable, but there is treasures that we cannot see. Treasures that He promises us... Treasures that we'll miss out on if we walk by sight....

God is good yall

American Idol

God created Adam and saw that it was no good for man to be alone... And gave him Eve...

God gave his son a bride.

God also provides a bride for his only begotten son, Jesus.
That bride is you and I, the church.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 😄~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When God's people reject Him and turn to other idols (money, images, people...)...
It's is like the bride rejecting the groom.
Church rejecting Jesus - Eve rejecting Adam
We go on, in our idolatry, and pair with things we are not suppose to pair with.
People worship other people
... The bride has paired with the bride....
Eve has no interest in Adam.... She wants another Eve....
Two Eves cannot produce the same way an Adam and an Eve can.
The ability to fufill purpose is lost.
The ability to be productive is lost.
The ability to multiply is lost.
When a man (woman, boy, or girl) worships something other than the one true God (Jesus)...
The ability to fulfill purpose is lost.
The ability to be productive is lost.
The ability to multiply is lost.
But thanks be to God that we can be forgivin of our idol worship... Our failure to be fruitful and multiply... Our rejection of the groom.
There is still time to acknowledge that we are wrong, stop doing wrong, and ask for forgiveness.
And God is faithful... If we confess our sins to Him... He'll forgive them. (1 John 1:9)
We have got to pair up with who we are made for...
He completes us...
He fulfills us....
He loves us....
He forgives us.
Scripture of the day:
Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. (Romans 1:21-27 NLT)
Challenge of the day:
It's not up to us to change ourselves. If we could do that, we wouldn't need a savior.
Let us go to God admitting that we've done wrong... And that we want to change... Acknowledge that He is able and willing to change us and that we very much want His help.
Don't Worry
Overwhelmed with work? Family? Friends? Relationships?
Do you sound like this?
If I can just pay this bill...
If I can just make it to the weekend...
If I could just get a degree...
If I could just ____ ...
Things would be better.
What are we trusting in?
Money?
Timing?
Societies standards?
Our planning?
If trusting in these things could support us, would we be overwhelmed/anxious/worried/unsure?
Why not trust in a sure thing?
Someone who understands...
Cares...
...actually has the power to fix things...
Jesus
Seek Him and His love. He'll take care of you!
Scripture of the day!!
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. (Matthew 6:25-34 NLT)
Birds of a feather....
Scripture of the day:
Psalms 1:1 (KJV)
1 Blessed is the man
that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Challenge of the day:
Walk in the counsel of Christians.
Note how it affects you.
Taste and See
Scripture of the day!
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. (Psalms 34:8 KJV)
Usually we see things, then we taste it... Eve looked at the forbidden fruit and saw that it was desirable and she ate. The psalmist says do it the other way around: taste and then see.
Imagine yourself in a dark room... you cant see a thing... and you hear a voice say, "taste this." Would you taste it?
Probably only if you knew and trusted the person.
Tasting without seeing requires faith.
We don't know what the food is we are about to take part in, but we must trust that He is the bread of life; when we taste it, we will see that He is good.
Challenge:
Eat from the fruit of His will. Do something righteous.
Before you look at it with fleshly desires and talk yourself out of it, dive in. Get your feet wet. Taste. Then you'll see that the Lord is good.
Spirit and Truth
God loves YOU.
Just as you are.
You do not have to put on an act.
You do not have to act like you're perfect.
The Lord loves you.
While we were sinners, he died for us.
Don't feel bad because your life looks different from someone else's.
Don't feel like you can't go to the Father because of things you have done.
Talk to God (pray).
He listens.
Are things going well?
Thank him. :')
Things going wrong?
Ask him to help you be right.
He will.
Admit you're shortcomings. Acknowledge that you're tired of messing up...
He'll guide you.
(Follow him)
He's not waiting to yell at you.
He's not mad at you.
He wants to show you true love.
(Receive it)
Talk to Jesus (pray).
Scripture of the day:
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23, 24 KJV)
State (Florida) vs. Zimmerman
John 8:3-5 (KJV)
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned:but what sayest thou?
That woman slept with a man... That man's other woman, when she found out, was probably like:
Wtf.. I don't want to hear about that love sh--... That (-----) gots to be stoned...
But God...
We HAVE to forgive....
Love is (long suffering)...
My prayers go out to the families... I can't imagine how they feel... But God...
He knows what it's like to have a son murdered... In His case, the Son was COMPLETELY SINLESS...
But God allowed that so WE won't get the DEATH WE DESERVE....
...But we get everlasting LIFE if we believe in Him...
[Plus He beat death :) ]
Light
Scripture of the day:
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. (Genesis 1:1-4 NLT)
Darkness.
It covered the deep waters... AND the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface.
Dark <situations/circumstances/people> can have the Spirit of God HOVERING over it... But until a word is spoken...
Darkness.
When you speak <Light/the Word/JESUS>... He is.
And God'll see that it's good and the darkness will no longer be around the light.
Love
We gotta love people....
Scripture of the day!
John 9:11 NLT
He told them, “The man they call Jesus made mud and spread it over my eyes and told me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash yourself.’ So I went and washed, and now I can see!”
"the man they call Jesus" not the man he calls Jesus...  He didn't have a personal relationship with the Lord... The Lord didn't stop to introduce himself..  Didn't tell him that he was God... He just blessed him. The man didn't even see it coming (pun intended lol) he just knew a guy put mud on his face and it was suggested that he clean it off...  And all 'a sudden, he could see
we as the body of Christ need to operate from a position where we can bless people that don't even know us... I'm not talking about people across the word... I mean people right in our city that we walk by... without flashing our Kingdom ID we should see a need and supply it rather they're believers or not...
Someone homeless on the street needs some cash... Y? They just gonna buy liquor and weed with it...
I'm sure that man who was healed used his eyes lustfully at some point...
It's not our job to analyze what they do with the blessing. It's our job to love.
:)
My kids will call my name a thousand times and expect me to turn my head and acknowledge them... When I don't... Cuz I'm busy or irritated they persist and get louder and closer... When I finally turn to them they are like, "look what I can play"... And they cheese real big and play something and look back at me for acceptance... Because I have so many of them I can't give them the attention they long for... :/ but thanks be to God Jesus isn't like that with us. When we call His name... He hears us. He listens. He pays attention to us. He cares.... And even though we are heard, we don't always seek Him like we should... Yet He's there... Ever present... Looking after us.. Listening to us... Smiling at us, because we are His. :)
Scripture of the day:
Psalms 3:4 (KJV)
I cried unto the Lord with my voice,
and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
Humility
Scripture of the day!
1 Samuel 5:1-4 NLT
After the Philistines captured the Ark of God, they took it from the battleground at Ebenezer to the town of Ashdod. They carried the Ark of God into the temple of Dagon and placed it beside an idol of Dagon. But when the citizens of Ashdod went to see it the next morning, Dagon had fallen with his face to the ground in front of the Ark of the L ord ! So they took Dagon and put him in his place again. But the next morning the same thing happened—Dagon had fallen face down before the Ark of the L ord again. This time his head and hands had broken off and were lying in the doorway. Only the trunk of his body was left intact.
Thought: don't let people worship you when you know God is sovereign.. He'll break you. Be humble
Walk
Man... Last week on my way to praise team rehearsal, 2 cars broke down on me. This week.. We in a group chat cuz my pastor got an engagement tomorrow... I text, send me the info, I'll meet you there... I lose my phone before I get the response.... A member of the prayer group got beat in an act of intimidation to stop him from doing what's he's doin... I over slept for class yesterday... Demonic forces breached boundaries they should not have. All this in less than a week.
I praise God even harder.
Tho I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil...
I could be sitting in the valley... Laying down in the valley, sleeping in the valley... Tied up in the valley... Dead in the valley... But I'm walking.
Might not look like much is bein done, but just like in Jericho.... Walk.
Surely goodness and mercy will Follow Me all the days of my life....
AND I will dwell in the house of The Lord forever.
So while walking thru this valley... If it chooses to strike... Boom. Fall on goodness. Hit on the other side? Boom. Fall on mercy.... They followin/behind us
And if the valley of the shadow of death strikes... It's hittin Jesus. Dwell in the house of The Lord forever... Alive IN Christ. Not man's battle. It's hittin Him. And He already died.. He already beat death... He already won. Jesus is alive; it is death.
Bottom line is... Keep on walkin. Finish this race. Answer the call. Step up. Step Out. Step. Glory to glory. Faith to faith. Grace to grace. Victory to victory. Long suffering to long suffering. The gates of hell shall not prevail. #church.
Scripture of the day:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31 KJV)
It's Hot!
Scripture of the day:
They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun. (Revelation 7:16 NLT)
As I was leaving work today, I spoke to the security guard whom I often speak to and I asked, "Is it still really hot out or did the heat break?" We usually have small talk but today he had a lot to say... He said, "Naw, it's still hot," and as I was walking away he said, "You know, a lot of people can't take this heat.. That's how you know we weren't made for the lake of fire..." He went on to tell me about Jesus and redemption.. And the importance of repentance... And he spoke with a loud truthful boldness that made me think... Dang, you right.. I'm so glad I'm saved... Jesus is so good and hell is so bad....
People complain that winter is too cold and summer is too hot but we fail to realize that the change in temperature is just a foreshadow/ warning/ sneak peek of what the Lord can do.
Challenge:
Remember that their are two paths.
Life.
Death.
For those who choose life, uncomfortable situations, hunger, thirst, hot sun, will only last for a second and is nothing compared to the glory we share in Christ Jesus. For those who choose death, uncomfortable situations can and will magnify and intensify.
Living Sacrifice
Scripture of the day:
Romans 12:1 (KJV)
Chapter 12
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
... Living sacrifice... Someone who willingly walks to the slaughter... Carries his cross... (You can't really nail your own hands, but that's for another day)... Someone who died/ was sacrificed... Yet lives... Resurrected like Christ...
...that ye present your bodies resurrected like Christ...
...we died to sin... We are now new creatures; slave to righteousness... Present yourself as the new creature. To present yourself, you must see yourself as the new creature...
See yourself dead (sacrifice) and risen (living) like Christ.
See yourself as new... Empowered... Spirit filled... God lead... Loved... Loving...
...by the mercies of God...
Mercy...
...wasn't left dead...
... Allowed to live... Twice.
...still alive.
...by the mercies of God, present your bodies a living sacrifice...
...still alive...
Don't die to righteousness.
Challenge:
Don't die to righteousness.
What's Good?
Scripture of the day:
Romans 12:9 (BBE)
Let love be without deceit. Be haters of what is evil; keep your minds fixed on what is good.
How am I both hating what is evil and keeping my mind fixed on what is good....?
It's good to hate evil.
Thinking evil thoughts and hating evil are two different things.
(Un)Spoken Word
Scripture of the day:
He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. (Isaiah 53:7 NLT)
Thought: What does this mean to you?
I look at it and think... If it were me, I'd be holding in bad words... But He is good. Literally. If He had spoke, someone might have become a believer and stopped the crucifixion... Makes me think of the times I choose to speak or not to speak... Is it so people can come to know the Christ?...
Living Water
I'm thankful for God's spirit... You know how you can have a drooping flower and water it and the flower starts to stand up again? That's how it is with God and His people... A friend sent me a scripture in a time of need and it was like living water...  Lifted me up like a drooping plant.
Scripture of the day:
John 7:38-39 NLT
Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”  (When he said “living water,” he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered into his glory.)
Challenge:
Stay hydrated.
Things I Learned at the Beach
1.
Abraham.. The father of many nations... Was told that his descendants would be as numerous as the grains of sand. Sand is formed when rock is crushed. Jesus is our rock, and because he was crushed on calvary many might be saved.. Jew and Gentile added to the kingdom... More grains of sand...
2.
Imagine the days of Noah. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. But what about on the other side of the world? Imagine not seeing the rain coming... But just looking up and seeing a giant wave of water coming to submerge you... You wouldn't have been able to see the gradual steps from dry, to raining, to flooded. It instantaneously would have gone from 0 to 10... God promised that He's
pouring out His Spirit... Some are praying and seeking His face... They are witnessing the rain... Others are in rebellion... But people are interceding for them... They will look up one day and see the flood waters...
3.
Stepping on the sand was weird at first. It was a big decline to get down to the beach area... And I would sink like 2 inches into the sand with every step.. It was scary lol... I didn't want to fall all the way down there... I assumed it was loose like that because it was wet, but when I got by the lake, the sand was packed much tighter by the water. That didn't make no sense to me and it still don't
physically... But the sand (God's people /Abraham's seed) was packed tighter the closer it was to the water (the purification agent)... So when the church is in active fellowship with Christ, relationships work better, communities are tighter, the body is more cohesive... The out pouring of God's Spirit shall grow and unify His body
Scripture of the day!
Joel 2:28 NLT
“Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.
Challenge:
Pray for the outpouring.
Acknowledge Transgressions
Eve and Adam ate from the tree and when accused, they denied all responsibility. Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed the serpent. As a result, all three parties were cursed.... I wonder what would have happened if Adam, Eve, or the serpent had repented? David had his share of issues but was quick to repent. He received forgiveness.
Scripture of the day:
Psalms 51:1-3 (KJV)
Psalm 51
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness:
according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions:
and my sin is ever before me.
Challenge:
Ask God to show you the forbidden fruit on your plate. Repent. Ask for/receive forgiveness. Move on.
Hole-y
Scripture of the day:
John 20:27 (KJV)
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side:and be not faithless, but believing.
Jesus' hands still had the holes in them...
The body of Christ had the "imperfection"
The church has its "imperfections"...
Yet those "imperfections" were purposely placed there by God to bring glory to Himself and to strengthen our faith.
Thought of the day:
Let us not be harsh or hasten to criticize the church... Christ is the head and has things under control.
Daily Bread
Scripture of the day:
Matthew 6:11 (KJV)
Give us this day our daily bread.
God gives us daily bread but I feel like a lot of it goes to waste... we can't eat it all because we fill up with other junk... Let us try to focus more on God's bread and less on worldly satisfactions.
The Blood
One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out. (John 19:34 NLT)
Blood AND water flowed out?
Water is in blood. So separate water...water that did not mix flowed out of The Lord.
Water cleansed us and was used as a symbol for baptism. The blood cleanses us now... Jesus showed the coming of this new covenant by blood when he turned the water into wine.
So why both water and blood?
The two are witnesses of his Christ-ship
And Jesus Christ was revealed as God’s Son by his baptism in water and by shedding his blood on the cross —not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit, who is truth, confirms it with his testimony. (1 John 5:6 NLT)
Another perspective...
A lot of times I hear people referring to what a lot of people are doing as watered down Christianity. Modern day Christians are missing this and that and it really isn't as powerful as it should be.
I think water and blood flowed out of Jesus to say to us... Hey, the blood is strong. No matter what is around it or near it...
It won't blend in.
It won't dilute it.
The blood will never lose its power.
Arson
Moses saw the bush burn and not be consumed. The 3 Hebrew boys were thrown in the fire. God went in there with them and they did not burn... Jeremiah said its like fire shut up in his bones... And thanks to God's promise, we have his fire in us now...
Scripture of the day:
Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. (Acts 2:3, 4 NLT)
Evangelical Challenge:
Take it to the next level.. It's not enough to see the flames, or be in the flames, or even have the flames in you... Ask God to help you set someone else on fire!
Let it Go
Destroy this temple and in 3 days I'll raise it up.
.... The Jews asked for a miraculous sign.. Jesus responded... destroy this temple and in 3 days I will raise it up. Yes, resurrection is miraculous, but there's another sign in that statement. Love.
If someone threatened to destroy me or something of mine... I would respond... Hurt me, I'll hurt you back, but Jesus said, destroy this temple and in 3 days I'll raise it up... That's like saying... Bust my windshield and I'll go buy another one... Or slap me and I'll take a Tylenol.. Take from me and I'll go buy another one.
The Word challenges us to not make ourselves whole when we are wronged, but to bless our offender.
We see Christ doing this... Destroy this temple and in 3 days I will raise it up... Say I'm not God and in 3 days I'll show you I am (mercy and hope for the nonbeliever)... Take life from me and I'll give you everlasting life.
Scripture of the day:
"To you who are ready for the truth, I say this: Love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for that person. If someone slaps you in the face, stand there and take it. If someone grabs your shirt, giftwrap your best coat and make a present of it. If someone takes unfair advantage of you, use the occasion to practice the servant life. No more tit-for-tat stuff. Live generously. (Luke 6:27-30 MSG)
Evangelical challenge:
Go out of your way to bless someone who wrongs you.
Life
Scripture of the day:
Genesis 3:24 (KJV)
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
...so... They could have eaten from the tree of life to begin with? I think I always assumed that they couldn't eat that one too...
Just thinking through it... Ok, eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and I'll surely die... Eve must have been truly convinced she'd be ok to just eat the fruit especially when life was sitting right there...
It just goes to show how listening to satan's lies can get us to do crazii things!
But thanks be to God... Thanks be to God...
Revelation 2:7 (KJV)
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Detroit EFM
I'm watching Let It Rip on Fox 2 and they are talking about the emergency manager for Detroit... It's set up like there is a debate with the different sides represented. It gives the viewer the impression that one view is correct and the rest are wrong. This is false. The arguments represented share one key element. They are all anti Christ... and without Jesus, they are wrong and will fail.
Scripture of the day:
Matthew 7:13
Enter ye in at the strait gate:for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Multiplication
Divine relationships produce fruit.
Scripture of the day!
Genesis 4:1
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
Watch What You Watch
You watch a tv show.. get engaged... your mind is influenced by the visuals you see.. and afterwards an invitation/altar call... but not a come to Jesus moment.. a come to satan moment... lot of people model their actions based on tv and pop culture. If shows pump up fornication, suddenly it doesn't seem like a big deal.. and people fornicate more.. If tv says homosexuality is alright, then its easier for people to think that being gay is ok. Sports usually hype up idolatry and the news gives demonic prophecies all the time..."Crime is going up... allergy season is coming... New killer bacteria are out..." It's almost impossible for the believer to keep himself totally away from these things, but we need to be conscience of what we are feeding ourselves and how it is affecting us.
Scripture of the day!
Ephesians 5:3-7
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient:but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words:for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
3/11/13 Father Knows Best
If you eat from the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you will surely die... Not eat from the tree and get kicked out of Eden...God wanted to stop them from messing up again. He didn't want them to live forever by that fruit of the tree..(If we lived forever, could we die with Christ in baptism?) the fruit of the tree that gives us life is Christ nailed to the cross... Sometimes the Lord blocks stuff that looks like Eden to save us from dangers unseen.
Scripture of the day:
Genesis 3:22-23
And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil:and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
Is this commercial disturbing to anyone else? Why is she holding on to the umbrella?...its like she wants to keep it... then she's happy with what seems to be controlled depression...
*true healing comes from Christ Jesus*
Scripture of the day:
Exodus 7:10-12
And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the Lord had commanded:and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers:now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents:but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.
3/9/13 Make Me Whole II
You ever have something you loved and the enemy came along and took it from you? The feeling sucks but God is interested in making you whole... And He will.
Scripture of the day:
Genesis 4:25
And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth:For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
3/7/13 Make Me Whole
March 7, 2013
Scripture of the day!
John 5:6-9
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool:but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked:and on the same day was the sabbath.
Before this, it talks about how the first person to get in the water after it was troubled received healing. Those people got healed (by the grace of God) by there efforts... They must have hurried to be the first in the water and the winner of the physical match was healed. Sadly, by leaning on their own understanding and being impatient, they overlooked Jesus. One was healed in the water and missed Him perhaps because he saw no need for a savior in his new condition. Multitudes missed out on Him on that occasion because they were focus on getting their healing their way... which wasn't working out for them. One man, however, (and possibly more) could not rely on his own efforts. He was totally broken and dependent; he knew he had great need. He wasn't even in a position where he could come to Christ... So Christ came to him.. and healed him and made him whole.
Thought for today:
When we feel like we're in a position where we cannot fix things on our own we are in a position for Christ to come into our lives and make us whole.
3/6/13 Clean Heart
A woman was caught in the act of adultery... Funny the man wasn't... The church folk brought her to Jesus and although their intent to was to condemn, God meant it for good and she found forgiveness. He (the man) and the other "church folk" saw themselves as perfect... didn't recognize their sin... did not go to Jesus... did not find forgiveness... did not experience Jesus' love.
Scripture of the day
Psalms 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me.
