Scripture of the day!
John 5:6-9
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool:but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked:and on the same day was the sabbath.
Before this, it talks about how the first person to get in the water after it was troubled received healing. Those people got healed (by the grace of God) by there efforts... They must have hurried to be the first in the water and the winner of the physical match was healed. Sadly, by leaning on their own understanding and being impatient, they overlooked Jesus. One was healed in the water and missed Him perhaps because he saw no need for a savior in his new condition. Multitudes missed out on Him on that occasion because they were focus on getting their healing their way... which wasn't working out for them. One man, however, (and possibly more) could not rely on his own efforts. He was totally broken and dependent; he knew he had great need. He wasn't even in a position where he could come to Christ... So Christ came to him.. and healed him and made him whole.
Thought for today:
When we feel like we're in a position where we cannot fix things on our own we are in a position for Christ to come into our lives and make us whole.
